Today I want to write about my opinion on the “Hyper-V Best Practices” written by Benedict Berger and published via Packt Publishing. This book is my 4th I review within one year.
At first let me tell something about my relation to the autor and the publisher. I know Benedict since 2 years and we hve good business and personal relationship to each other. So thats the reason why he asked me to give him my true and polite opinion about his book. Which I will do within this blogpost. I know Benedict as an high expert on Microsoft Hyper-V und private Cloud topics and was honored from Microsoft with the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award for his know how.
My way to packt Publishing was a bit different. A few months ago, they asked me if I would volunteer as content reviewer for a book about System Center VMM and Appcontroller that will be released on the 28th of January.
Now the over all view. The book is written for readers who already have first experiances with Hyper-V and want to deepen them. The book is written with many real life, best practice and personal experiences from Benedict. The whole code and examples written in the book are correct and work well. This is also because of the great expert reviewers like Ben Armstrong, Carsten Rachfahl and Charbel Nemnon who double checked the content. 🙂
Let me show you the table of content, so that you can see which topics are covered. I would highly recommand the book to all who are interested in Microsoft virtualization.
You can now order the book at Packt Publishing as eBook (currently 5€) and on Amazon.de & Amazon.com as paperback (currently 26€).
